Gauting state secondary school has existed since 1955. The school moved into the new building on 13th September 2012. The colourfully designed building is an atrium building with the inner courtyards creating a tranquil school atmosphere. The teaching building forms the northern perimeter of the grounds. It replaces sport facilities that have been rebuilt at the edge of the main sports field. The west perimeter of the two facing schools is a new sports hall and the east is a long bicycle shed. The school canteen is located in the middle of the school grounds, enclosed on all sides.
